We’re Hiring! Business Development Manager – Jersey

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the JJ Fox Trading team as a Business Development Manager for Corporate, Facilities Management and Government sector.

Purpose of this Role:

The main purpose of this role is to support the Head of Commercial in driving sales across Corporate, FM & Government sectors across all product

categories, through the retention and growth of existing customers and development of new customers. 

The other purpose of this role is to support all other sales channels as subject matter specialist in coffee & equipment category.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Role Specific:

  • Actively seek business development opportunities within a defined sales channel in line with group sales strategy
  • Build relationships with existing clients to maximise cross-selling and up-selling opportunities
  • Drive peak performance and sales success across the organization
  • Participate in creating, negotiating and closing commercial agreements
  • Give sales presentations to line managers & executives
  • Support Head of Commercial in all aspects of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and be the first point of contact during his/her absence
  • Provide regular statistical analysis of customer sales and profitability to help shape strategy, reviewing customer /company performance with line Manager weekly
  • Assist Head of Commercial with annual sales strategy planning, including sales and gross margin target
  • Feedback on all suggestions for improvement and market research to line managers
  • Participate in marketing events on behalf of the company
  • Maintain clear communication with all internal departments
  • Engage in regular team meetings to monitor progress, update on current projects
  • Review Power BI metrics and interpret results to drive sales activity, at least weekly
  • Ensure Pipeline opportunities are properly recorded and progress on conversion reported.
  • Deliver training as necessary regarding display, tastings, and product information.
  • Consult with Purchasing department to assist with stock demand change request for the Corp/FM/Gov sales channel to minimise out of stocks and over stocks
  • Instrumental in delivering the strategy for meeting sales performance targets

Experience/Skills Required:

Personal Competencies:

  • Discretion in the handling of sensitive and confidential information 
  • Articulate communication skills including report writing
  • A high level of self-motivation and organisation

  • An excellent customer service aptitude and a professional and courteous manner

 

Technical Competencies:

Essential:

  • Clean driving licence
  • Confident use of Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Relevant experience in FMCG, Beverage, Tobacco, and Non-foods industry
  • Knowledge of the Corporate, FM & Government industry
  • Excellent knowledge of the island
  • Knowledge of Company products and the Channel Island market

 

An Advantage:

  • Product Knowledge of Vending Equipment and Coffee Consumables Category

 

Hours of Work

Normal working hours are 37.5 per week over five days and you may be required, on occasion, to work overtime to meet business needs.
