We’re hiring! Butcher – Jersey (Part time/ Full time/ Seasonal)

We are thrilled to present an exceptional opening at JJ Fox Trading for the role of a Butcher! This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality meat products to our valued customers.

We are seeking a candidate who possesses a keen eye for detail, exceptional knife skills, and a deep understanding of various meat cuts and their specifications. The successful applicant needs to be a physically fit, well organised, responsible, and proactive individual. You will be working with world recognised brands, boning beef, lamb, and pork, or preparing products for a wide variety of clients.

Purpose of the Role:

Your primary responsibility will be to skilfully prepare and cut various meat and poultry products according to the specified requirements. It is imperative that you adhere to HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines, ensuring the highest standards of food safety. Additionally, you will operate in full compliance with the policies, procedures, and regulations set forth by J.J. Fox, while maintaining a strong focus on Health and Safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• To prepare/cut, package and label to required product specifications multi species meat and poultry.
• To ensure stock rotation is followed – first in first out.
• To complete orders accurately with care and attention.
• To observe where possible and report non-conformance product passing on the line to supervisor/manager
• To ensure traceability information stays with the product whilst on the cutting line
• To report any concerns on freshness/quality to the supervisor/manager
• Clean the main factory areas, cutting boards and equipment used at the end of each shift
• The job will also include other reasonable related duties as required. You will be required to undergo on job and attend off job training sessions to enable you to carry out your duties effectively and skilfully.

Experience/Skills Required:

Essential:

• Proven experience as a Butcher, demonstrating expertise in cutting and preparing meat and poultry.
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• CV Required
• Excellent attention to detail
• Self-motivated
• Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast- paced and ever-changing commercial environment whilst maintaining effective working relationships and a positive, cheerful attitude.
