We’re hiring! Butchery Supervisor

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the JJ Fox Trading Butchery team in Jersey as a Butchery Supervisor. If you have experience relevant Butchery experience, are physically fit, well organise and a responsible individual, and are looking for a new challenge this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

 

Purpose of the Role:

The primary purpose of this position is to support the Butchery Manager and to cover in their absence. The Butchery Supervisor is responsible for all meats, ingredients and materials assigned to them, including the controlling of stock and orders for butchery meat and meat stores. In this role you are required to assist the Butchery Manager in ensuring the highest quality in manufacturing and processing of all meats whilst following the HACCP and ISO standards and requirements at all times, and working in an efficient, effective and professional manner. In the Butchery Manager’s absence, you are accountable for managing the Butchery Team members workloads and conduct, and for developing your own skills and capabilities to become a leader in the business in compliance with HR Policies and Procedures and maintenance of a high performing team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all duties are carried out in your nominated workstation, catering/retail.
  • Order, Produce, Pick customer orders.
  • Ensure you’re up to date and can maintain the company’s standards in Health and Safety.
  • Ensure you implement the daily HACCAP procedures as required.
  • Arrange for the goods to be unloaded, specifications checked, Best Before / Used by Dates recorded, weights checked and safely stored away to ensure the chill chain is not broken.
  • Keep a record on the day the goods are brought in and ensure all butchery products are signed for.
  • Keep track of the goods and ensure that none of them get mixed with the others.

Experience/Skills Required:

 

Essential:

  • Computer Skills (Word and Outlook)
  • Literacy
  • Strong planning & organisational skills
  • Strong communication, inter-personal and influencing skills
  • Foodservice experience

 

An Advantage:

  • HACCP Qualification

 

Hours of Work

Normal working hours for this role is 6 days per week, Monday – Saturday, on occasion, to work overtime to meet business needs.
