We’re Hiring! Health & Safety Officer – Jersey

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the JJ Fox team as a Health and Safety Officer.

The successful applicant needs to be a problem-solver, an individual that can prioritise and has a constant curiousness to learn and self-develop. 

 

Purpose of the Role:

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure a safe and healthy work environment across all our Jersey sites, for all staff, and act as a Health and Safety champion, ambassador, and auditor.

This will involve engaging with 3rd party providers to ensure the relevant professionals assist in performing Health & Safety related tasks, and include implementing, monitoring and recommended related training, to ensure compliance with all the statuary obligations placed on the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Arrange H&S Inductions, ongoing staff training both internal and external
  • Implementation and maintenance of, and updating the H&S platform
  • Develop and implement inspection policies and procedures with line managers, and schedule routine inspections key personnel
  • Assess current workplace safety and procedures, and prepare updated emergency procedures
  • Ensure our facilities meet as a minimum, government regulations and environmental, health and security standards.
  • Regularly inspect our premises to identify safety, health, and environmental risks and concerns to develop a continuous improvement mindset across all staff and depots

 

Experience/Skills Required:

 

Essential:

  • Proven experience as facilities/ Health & Safety Officer or relevant position
    • (2-5+ years in a similar role)
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies
  • Industry relevant qualifications – Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Facility Management, Safety Management, or Completed a professional certification program in Health and Safety management
  • A good knowledge of IT packages (Microsoft Office Suite or similar software)
  • You are proficient in working with data, and presenting key performance stats
  • Clear DBS Check

 

Hours of Work

Normal working hours are 37.5 per week over five days and you may be required, on occasion, to work overtime to meet business needs.
