Christmas Lottery Launch 2023

This week marked the launch of the Channel Islands Christmas Lottery, with an event focussed on community, celebration and raising awareness of lottery funded projects.

Christmas Lottery tickets will be available for Islanders to purchase from Saturday 30th September, following the official launch event. The event took place at Jersey Museum and was hosted by Fox Trading and the two recipients of the Channel Island’s Christmas Lottery funding, the Association of Jersey Charities and Jersey Community Foundation.

The Lieutenant Governor of Jersey, Vice-Admiral Jerry Kyd, and Deputy Kirsten Morel were in attendance, as well as local businesses and a vast number of organisations that have been recipients of lottery funding. The evening highlighted the importance of the Channel Islands Lottery for the Third Sector, with charitable organisations showcasing the tangible and positive difference funding makes for Islanders.

Fox Trading is the official partner and distributor of the Channel Islands Christmas Lottery tickets. Tickets can be purchased from all local retailers and the kiosk in King Street.

Supporting Good Causes...

Philip Taylor, Chairman at JJ Fox Trading Ltd, said “We were delighted to welcome two wonderful and vital organisations – the Association of Jersey Charities and Jersey Community Foundation – who each channel funds to Jersey’s charitable projects, as well as many supporters, to our launch event. It was a great evening, focussing on the purpose of the lottery. Yes, there’s the thrill of a possible win, but ultimately, every ticket sold contributes to funding which gives back to our island communities and changes lives. Without people’s participation, whether it’s the public in buying the tickets, or businesses helping promote and sell the tickets, organisations such as the AJC and JCF cannot continue doing the same amazing work. We also extend our sincere thanks for the Lieutenant Governor for joining us and showing his support.”

Kevin Keen, Chair of the Association of Jersey Charities, said “The lottery is a major source of funding for good causes in Jersey, we very much hope Islanders remember this when they buy their ticket. Although they may not always win a prize, they can be assured that our charities are winners from very ticket sold.”

Anna Terry, Chief Executive Officer at Jersey Community Foundation, said “The CI Christmas Lottery launch event was a celebration of our shared commitment to community and generosity. While the event demonstrated the significant impact of Lottery funding, it also highlighted the spirit of unity and goodwill that makes Jersey so special. The CI Christmas Lottery is just one of many ways in which we can make a difference in our Island community – whether it’s supporting local charities, volunteering or simply spreading simple acts of kindness, every action counts in creating a stronger, more vibrant Jersey for all.”
