We’re proudly shining the spotlight on the most sustainable partners from the Easenmyne Foodservice range.
Speciality Breads have been putting the ‘art’ in artisan baking for over 20 years and have now set their sights on becoming the most sustainable bakery in the UK. To help them achieve this, they have embarked on an exciting new partnership with Wildfarmed, who are equally invested in protecting the planet. Their regenerative wheat is farmed with a focus on healthy soils, thriving ecosystems, and positive farming communities, which not only improves sustainability, but also produces a fantastically flavourful flour!

Speciality Breads’ approach to baking is very simple; they bring together the best elements of traditional baking skills and modern food trends to create stunning breads, sweet bakery products and frozen doughs. They handcraft their bread wherever possible to add that personal touch and to keep real bread making skills alive. They only use the best; carefully sourcing key ingredients like flour, from family millers and rapeseed oil from local, Red Tractor Certified farms. Speciality Breads are proud to provide some of the finest breads in the land.
As an independent bakery, Speciality Breads can be first to market with original produce of great taste and always, exceptional quality.
Wherever they can, Speciality Breads support British farmers. Their key ingredients, like flour and oil, come from Red Tractor assured farms. In fact, their rapeseed oil comes from a farm just six miles from their bakeries. Where they can, they buy British. However, with some ingredients such as cranberries, olives and sultanas, they buy the best from trusted suppliers. All specifications are available at specialitybreads.co.uk.
When the plant-based movement began, Speciality Breads embraced it fully by creating a plant-based alternative for every bread they produced, reducing CO₂ emissions by 35%.
While perfecting their plant-based brioche recipe, they tested numerous dairy alternatives and selected one with three times less environmental impact than dairy butter, using eight times less water and three times less land.
Traditionally, plant-based products catered to vegans, but this is evolving as consumers adopt a flexitarian lifestyle. Speciality Breads are excited to support this shift with their new range of plant-based bread.
Speciality Breads’ partnership with Wildfarmed, established last year, reflects their commitment to sustainability and quality, and makes their legendary wholesale artisan bread even better. Wildfarmed grows wheat the right way, producing flavourful flour that’s better for health, the soil, and the planet.
Wildfarmed regenerative farming practices go beyond sustainability by restoring and improving natural ecosystems. Using companion crops, sap testing, minimal fertiliser, and avoiding pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides, they protect soil and integrate livestock for balanced ecosystems.
This collaboration perfectly complements Sustainability Breads’ artisan bread collection, renowned for its vegan and vegetarian options. Together with Wildfarmed, they are making bread that’s not only delicious but also environmentally impactful, giving their wholesale customers a compelling story to share with their clients.
2025 will be a huge year at the Speciality Breads. They are planning to move to a purpose-built new site that will be as sustainable as possible. The company have stated that their ultimate aim is to be 100% energy self-sufficient by using solar power generated from an on-site solar farm. Combined with existing projects, they hope that this will help to reach their goal of becoming the most sustainable bakery in the UK.
