JJ Fox Trading receives Jersey Living Wage Accreditation

JJ Fox becomes the first wholesaler to receive Jersey Living Wage accreditation

We are delighted to announce that we’ve become the first wholesaler in Jersey to be awarded as a Living Wage employer.

The Jersey Living Wage Campaign aims to set a standard for employers to pay their staff a wage that takes into consideration the true cost of living here.

The Living Wage takes into account the cost of living, taxes and the value of benefits available to working people on low incomes. Its aim is to make sure that, on average, a worker receiving the Living Wage rate, topped up by in-work benefits, earn enough to be able to live with dignity and to thrive, not just survive within our Jersey community.

Caritas Jersey is licensed by the Living Wage Foundation in the UK to run the scheme and encourage local employers to sign up and play a part in eradicating poverty in the island.

Commenting on this news, the Jersey Living Wage Campaign Team Leader Jennifer Bridge said:

“We are delighted that JJ Fox Trading Ltd has been accredited as a Living Wage employer. With every employer that becomes accredited the message of the importance of paying the Living Wage is strengthened. We thank JJ Fox for playing their part’.

Managing Director of Fox Trading Martina McGibney added:

“JJ Fox Trading Ltd are proud to join the Living Wage Campaign and to be paying all our employed staff above the Living Wage. We are delighted to be the first wholesaler to gain Living Wage accreditation in Jersey, not just for directly employed staff but for all third-party employees on the Island as well. We are very proud of this achievement as we believe that all our employees should be treated fairly and in accordance with our values and pay is a significant part of that.”
